LET IT BE FOUNDATION AWARDED $1,000
BY THE SHOPPES AT CHINO HILLS IN FACEBOOK CHALLENGE
CHINO HILLS, Calif., (June 08, 2010)—The Shoppes at Chino Hills, a 380,000-square-foot open-air lifestyle center, recently awarded “The Let It Be Foundation” $1,000 in gift cards as an award for meeting a challenge to bring 1,000 fans to The Shoppes at Chino Hills’ new Facebook page.
“As a part of the community, The Shoppes at Chino Hills wanted to instantly generate the right message with our new Facebook page, which is that the page is all about letting the community know about events, special deals, and other good news at our center,” notes Glenn C. Miller, marketing director for The Shoppes. “By challenging The Let It Be Foundation to create the base of our fans, and rewarding them for doing so, we were able to partner with an important Chino Valley charity, while bringing the real spirit of community to our new social media community.”
The challenge, held from May 19 to May 28, had The Shoppes at Chino Hills offering The Let It Be Foundation one dollar per fan generated, up to a total of $1,000. The committed members of The Let It Be Foundation and their friends met the challenge at its maximum ahead of the deadline by generating more than 1,000 new fans.
The Shoppes at Chino Hills gift cards will be used by The Let It Be Foundation to help families of children with life-threatening illnesses make their home life closer to normal.
“We want to also encourage all our Facebook fans and our entire community to go to www.mlb.com/peopleallstarsamongus to vote for Ruthe Rosen, who is represented by the Angels, to help this fantastic organization fulfill even more good work for the Chino Valley,” Miller added. “This is a national program and the added publicity may draw thousands of dollars in donations for The Let It Be Foundation.”
The Let It Be Foundation
The Let It Be Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides support to Chino Valley residents. The focus is providing individualized aide to meet the needs of the family (medical accessories, sibling care, household maintenance, meals, etc.). With sponsorship and private donations, relief can be provided to overwhelmed and financially-strained families.
The foundation was inspired by Karla Asch-Rosen, who was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. Her heartfelt desire was to "just be normal" and share her faith with others. The foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that illness can have on the family dynamic.
Through The Let It Be Foundation, together with the help of the community, we can care for families that are in need - in desperate need to "just be normal." We can help them to enjoy things, right here in their own community. We can help them to socialize and have fun. Most importantly, we can help them avoid centering their existence on a disease and focus instead on the positives that can come out of it.
