THE SHOPPES AT CHINO HILLS LENDS A HAND TO LOCAL AREA CHILDREN WITH THE SCHOOL TOOLS SUPPLY DRIVE EVENT
First 100 to donate 10 items or more receive a free $5 Shoppes gift card and a Wetzel’s Pretzel.
CHINO HILLS, Calif., (July 15, 2008)—The Shoppes at Chino Hills is joining forces with the Inland Empire United Way to host a special school supply drive in support of the United Way’s “School Tools” program. The program, which provides school supplies to disadvantaged children, services 21 schools in five different districts throughout the Inland Empire.
The Shoppes at Chino Hills School Tools Supply Drive event will be held on Saturday, August 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Promenade at The Shoppes, located between Victoria’s Secret and Banana Republic. As an incentive, The Shoppes is generously offering a free $5 Shoppes at Chino Hills gift card and a free Wetzel’s Pretzel to the first 100 people to donate 10 items or more. There will be a limit of one gift card/pretzel per family while supplies last.
“The Shoppes is dedicated to helping our community thrive,” said Glenn C. Miller, SCMD, Property Manager/Director of Marketing at The Shoppes. “The School Tools program directly benefits the children in our community by providing them with the school supplies and support they need to succeed. We are very proud to partner with the Inland Empire United Way to help this terrific cause.”
The School Tools supply drive will be accepting new school supplies including pencils, pens, spiral notebooks, loose leaf paper, scissors, colored pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, glue and other appropriate items. All donated items are distributed to teachers from qualifying schools through the Inland Empire United Way’s Teacher Resource Center. Since the program’s launch in August of 2006, nearly 1,000 local teachers have visited the center, directly benefiting 25,500 low-income students in the Inland Empire.
Generous Inland Empire donors can give to this important community cause while enjoying a day of shopping at The Shoppes’ extensive list of retailers including the recently opened Victoria’s Secret and Hollister Co.
