THE TEMECULA MURRIETA RESCUE MISSION ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ITS MOBILE MEDICAL CLINIC TO PROVIDE CARE FOR THOSE IN NEED
- The Temecula Murrieta Rescue Mission’s Mobile Medical Clinic will help those in need combat the winter cold and flu season
- The Mobile Medical Clinic is staffed by a volunteer crew of local doctors and nurses
Temecula, Calif. (October 29, 2009) – The Temecula Murrieta Rescue Mission has announced the official launch of the organization’s mobile medical clinic, which will provide healthcare services to the last, the least and the lost of Southwest Riverside County in the Temecula Valley.
The sliding fee clinic is staffed by a volunteer team of local doctors and nurses giving of their time and expertise to provide care for impoverished members of the community in need of medical attention.
The Temecula Murrieta Rescue Mission’s mobile medical clinic is located inside a brand new, donated, 40-foot trailer that has been completely retrofitted with state-of-the-art medical equipment. The unit includes two exam rooms and is certified by the State of California.
“The Temecula Murrieta Rescue Mission team has been working feverishly for several months to prepare for the launch of the mobile medical clinic,” said Jim Palmer, President of the Temecula Murrieta Rescue Mission.
“There is an urgent need for healthcare among the uninsured and impoverished families in Temecula and Murrieta who need medical attention but cannot afford to get care. We are thrilled to now have the ability to meet this need and provide healthcare services at a very low cost to those who are below the federal poverty level and who would otherwise have to go untreated.”
The mobile medical clinic is open and ready to receive patients. The clinic is located in the west parking lot of Rancho Community Church (31300 Rancho Community Way in Temecula, Calif. 92592). The clinic staff will see adult patients every Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Services provided by the clinic include care for patients suffering from the flu, the common cold, minor injuries, diabetes, asthma and hypertension, among other ailments. Flu shots will not be administered through the clinic at this time.
“The opening of the mobile medical clinic is a great step forward in meeting one of the most urgent needs among the underserved members of our community,” said David Jones, Director of the Temecula Murrieta Rescue Mission. “We now need to ask the community for their help as we actively seek new volunteers, doctors and nurses to donate their time and skills. Their support would allow us to expand our scope of services to include children and to increase the amount of time the clinic is available to see patients.”
