INDUSTRY EXPERT THOMAS K. SHELTON HIRED AS PRESIDENT OF
WESTERN NATIONAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

Irvine, Calif.,  (November 4, 2008) — Thomas K. Shelton, CAPS®, CPM®, has been named President of Western National Property Management, the multifamily management arm of Western National Group. Western National Property Management currently oversees the management of more than 20,000 residential units valued at more than $3 billion.

In this position, Shelton will lead a team of real estate professionals that supervises a portfolio of assets owned by Western National Group, as well as a portfolio of assets owned by third-party clients.

“In addition to the critical focus that will be placed on the assets owned by the firm and its partners, I also intend to implement a strategy that will allow us to expand our third-party portfolio through the utilization of the entire platform of services provided by Western National Group. Those services include underwriting and acquisition assistance, financial analysis, consulting, due diligence, property management, renovation and rehabilitation, maintenance and landscaping,” explained Thomas K. Shelton, President of Western National Property Management. “Key components of this strategy will be to increase the number of properties we not only manage for existing clients, but also by aggressively obtaining new clients, and by expanding our geographic reach to include a larger presence in Northern California, as well as Las Vegas, Denver and the greater Phoenix area.”

Prior to joining Western National Property Management, Shelton served as Regional Partner of Greystar Real Estate Partners where he supervised a portfolio of 26,000 units throughout the Western United States. Shelton also previously served as Regional Vice President of Insignia Residential Group, was Senior Vice President of Koll Management Services and Senior Vice President of Phoenix-based CBS Investment Realty.

A 25-year veteran in the multifamily industry, Shelton is a past president of the National Apartment Association, a member of the National Multihousing Council, and earned the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Shelton received a Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University.
